They won cities; can they take the country? Environmentalists dream of it. They've managed to do well in the municipal elections, so they already imagine themselves at the top of the state. Are they however also popular? In an electoral landscape dominated by a disturbing abstention, they have above all won an urban vote, which is very much a minority on the scale of the territory. Let us wait, moreover, for them to prove themselves in their communities before considering the next step.
The first steps of their elected officials are already giving pause. That they go to war against the car, the plane, the heated terraces and a host of other uses deemed polluting, no one is surprised. If their fight was conducted with meticulousness and relevance, it would still happen, but, unfortunately, from Lyon to Strasbourg via Bordeaux, these two concepts seem to be foreign to them.
