François Kalfon (PS): "Macron wants to pulverize the right"

2020-07-10T02:45:37.647Z

The Ile-de-France regional councilor pleads for the suspension of the pension reform, in view of a fracture consumed between the president and the French and the repercussions of the health crisis.

Quite unanimously, the opposition describes the new Castex government as an electoral machine for preparing the candidacy of Emmanuel Macron in 2022. For François Kalfon, member of the PS national office, who was Thursday the guest of "Talk Le Figaro", c is also and above all " the final murder of the office of prime minister, through Jean Castex who does not speak without his electronic political ankle bracelet ". As such, the socialist maintains that everything is dictated to him " including pensions ", he denounces, in reaction to remarks by Jean Castex before the Senate on Wednesday, the latter arguing that " it would be irresponsible not to make this pension reform ”.

In total disagreement on the principle of the reform and taking into account the post-Covid context, François Kalfon, judges on the contrary that " it was good to suspend this reform ", to embark the country in a social mobilization against the economic effects of the health crisis. The regional councilor wonders above all, if it was really necessary " to make all this reform to give access to rights, in particular for agricultural pensions and equality for women ".

On this occasion, Kalfon invites the Head of State to question the problems encountered " with the intermediary bodies, and more generally with French society ". Because if the " social democrat ", as Kalfon defines himself, remembers the movement of "yellow vests", he also recalls the second element of " tension " very strong that was this pension reform, and summarizes more half a five-year term " paralyzed by a persistent misunderstanding between Emmanuel Macron and France ".

Erasing the PS from environmentalists would be a big mistake

For all these reasons, the regional councilor affirms that "the common thread of Emmanuel Macron and this government is to pulverize the right " by displaying a marker of continuation of the pension reform " so as not to disappoint the electorate right ”. And the co-founder of Gauche populaire adds: " We thought that Emmanuel Macron had understood the meeting with the country, the only meeting he takes is with 2022, and that passes, according to Macron, from the right, "says Kalfon.

Regarding the Prime Minister, " he will have to plunge into the pool of government action rather than stay on the edge", quips the socialist , even if he recognizes that for the reform of the unemployment insurance, " in his first declarations, Jean Castex, was still a man of common sense before being overtaken by political politics ". Without canceling the reform, as requested by the unions, the government will no doubt drop ballast by postponing the reform, given " a wall of unemployment and social plans that day after day appear, " anticipates the socialist.

For the moment, François Kalfon insists that " France needs a socialist left " convinced that "the erasure of the PS in the face of environmentalists would be a big mistake" in order to be able to embody a culture of government in the perspective from 2022.
