(CNN Spanish) - As a journalist, I am aware of the latest news as it is part of my work. So several times a day I try to escape and seek moments of harmony and pleasure.

Viewing fashion magazines, as well as reading fashion and beauty articles online, is a very positive and charming balm that envelops me, as they say in Spain, and makes me feel very good. Doesn't the same thing happen to them?

Now, it is lovely to be able to watch virtual fashion shows in Paris. Those who even show models with masks and in a certain way animate and make us dream. There is nothing wrong - or too frivolous - about it.

Beauty, product of good taste and imagination, is very positive to lift the spirit. And that's why, for more than a century, the existence of fashion magazines has been a very important part of our lifestyle. And they have been enormously aspirational, because they gave us hope and fueled our desire to achieve a better life.

When I started my career writing for Vanidades, I met countless girls who told me that my articles from New York inspired them to study languages, to travel and to two or three of them -including a well-known Colombian publisher-, to move and start a career. and a new life in America. It was all a product of dreaming, and getting down to work later.

And returning to the premise of this note, being exposed to beauty -and the emotional impact of fashion, as well as to the arts, music, literature, cinema- and in general everything that is part of a life more beautiful and harmonious, it is vital to maintain that balance that, at the end of everything, brings us happiness.
