Fearing the creation of a contamination cluster, several departments this week took orders opposing the holding of a possible teknival gathering thousands of revelers.

Seven prefectures in the center and west, alerted by the possibility of a rave party on their land, have taken measures to prevent the arrival of "thousands" of revelers while "the health crisis is still in progress" , according to their decrees consulted Saturday by AFP.

"In the current health context" , the Covid-19 crisis, the prefectures of the departments of Center-Val de Loire (Cher, Eure-et-Loir, Indre, Indre-et-Loire, Loir-et-Cher, Loiret) and Vienne, in New Aquitaine, took "in coordination" this week orders "to oppose the illegal installation" of a possible teknival, from Saturday and until Tuesday or Wednesday according to arrested, indicate in particular the prefects of Cher and Indre-et-Loire.

According to the Vienna prefecture joined by AFP, the authorities suspect the holding on these dates of a giant rave "capable of bringing together several thousand participants" .

In a first decree, the prefecture of Vienne thus provides for the “temporary prohibition” of this type of musical and festive gathering, citing security difficulties, in the height of summer, but also the Covid-19 crisis “still in progress " , While the regrouping of more than 5,000 people " is prohibited until August 31 " . Such a gathering "does not allow compliance with barrier gestures (...) and makes it likely the creation of a cluster of contamination" , she alarmed.

The prefectures have combined this measure with another decree which prohibits the circulation of heavy goods vehicles over 3.5 tonnes transporting equipment such as sound systems, sound systems and amplifiers.

The holding of this possible rally has rekindled the fears of certain prefectures such as in Indre-et-Loire where a teknival had ended in 2017 with 6 deaths, in the town of Pernay, recalled the prefect Corinne Orzechowski.
