The Secretariat encourages employees and the public to report abuses or violations of plan conditions by employers. If, after investigation, an employer is found to have made false statements, made false reports, concealed or provided false or misleading documents or information to the government, the secretariat or government agents, and obtained any subsidies under the plan, the employer may be prosecuted. If necessary, the Secretariat will refer the case to the relevant law enforcement department for follow-up. If there are any complaints concerning labor disputes stipulated in the Employment Regulations or employment conditions, the Secretariat will refer the Labour Department to follow up. The Secretariat has so far referred 11 reports and 1 complaint to the Labour Department and Customs respectively.
