In the past, the ROs responsible for handling DQ were generally appointed by the District Office of the District Officer. However, the government gazetted last month that the roles of the ROs in five constituencies, including Kowloon East, will be adjusted and implemented across the districts. Among them, the Hong Kong Island Electoral Officer will be appointed by the Wong Tai Sin District Officer, the Kowloon West Electoral Officer is the Central and Western District Office, the Kowloon East Electoral Officer is the Kowloon City District Office, the New Territories West District Officer is the Sha Tin District Office, and the New Territories East District Officer Is the District Officer for Islands.
