Much anger among many residents of Jerusalem and the surrounding area over massive fireworks firing from the city's Arab neighborhoods throughout the day. The shooting began last night (Saturday) at 7 am and continued until close to midnight in succession.

According to police explanations, the shooting reflects the tradition of celebrating graduation and receiving high school diplomas in the Arab sector in the capital. In previous years, fireworks were also heard on graduation day, but the scope and intensity of this year's shooting were significantly greater than before. It lasted long hours and included alarming and powerful noise and explosions.

Hundreds of residents called police and expressed their anger on social networks. Journalist Ofer Haddad (Channel 12) wrote on Twitter: "I brought up a series of pretty far-fetched fighting scenarios on my fronts, and I already prepared my wife that I may have been away from home for a long time on the Sabbath." I have not heard such explosive sounds since broadcasting along the border with a firm cliff. Then I found out that the school year ended in the Arab sector and I was pretty embarrassed by myself. "

French Hill resident Moria Zimmer wrote, "Just awful! Fireworks 13 hours in a row in Jerusalem! Why should we all suffer because children have graduated?"

Dan Iluz, a city council member, added: "A situation in which Jerusalem residents do not suffer from noise from firearms and firecrackers, which results in severe fears for children and adults alike, must not come to an end. This constant practice of restoring unprecedented power harms the lives of Jerusalem residents and their sense of security. Precisely because of a desire for good neighborliness within one diverse and unified city under Israeli sovereignty, and in order to avoid a situation of unnecessary conflict between sectors in the city, it is important to prevent a situation of serious harm to the quality of life of residents of Jerusalem from one sector by another.
