A major fire broke out on Sunday on a military ship stationed in San Diego, California, injuring several sailors, according to the city's firefighters. The origin of the fire is not yet known. A thick cloud of smoke was emerging from the ship, according to images broadcast by American televisions which specify that the building could continue to burn "for several days" .
Firefighters said they were called around 9 a.m. local time (6 p.m. in Paris) to respond to a fire on board the USS Bonhomme Richard , stationed at a naval base in San Diego, in the southwest of the United States. "Several sailors have been treated for different injuries," the firefighters tweeted, without giving further details. According to several American media reports, 11 sailors were treated for "minor injuries" .
