A 50-year-old man died of his injuries on Saturday after being beaten up in Gap earlier this week by a man he is said to have housed and who has been charged and imprisoned for these acts, the Grenoble prosecutor's office said on Sunday. Already known to the justice system, the 28-year-old suspect has been prosecuted for "attempted homicide" since Friday by the investigative judge of the criminal pole of Grenoble, where he was presented after a guard at sight of 48 hours.

During his hearings, the suspect allegedly made "minimalist confessions" declaring that he had "a stampede with his victim" while the two men spent the evening together.
