There are 38 new confirmed cases in Hong Kong today (12th), 30 of which are local cases, 13 of which are of unknown origin, and more than 20 initial confirmed cases.
Zhang Zhujun, director of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Center for Health Protection, Department of Health, said that in the past few days, the diagnoses involved all walks of life, lived and worked in different places, and also contacted family and friends, and there were more and more new cases every day, describing the situation. Some are out of control, and bluntly stated that the epidemic situation "looks like the situation at home does not seem to be easy to stop."
She repeatedly reminded the public to take good precautionary measures and maintain social distance, including less out of the street and less parties, and warned that if the public relaxes again, the epidemic will have a chance to break out, and the number of confirmed cases will increase geometrically.

Of the 38 newly confirmed cases added today, 8 are imported cases and 17 cases are related to earlier cases, including Binji Congee, Xinfacha Restaurant and Dewang School. However, the remaining 13 cases of unknown origin (see table below), and more than 20 preliminary diagnoses, including the owner and dim sum master of Judianfang dim sum shop in Sheung Wan, the female manager in charge of housekeeping at Bao Yu Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, and Tutors at Zhimen Education Center, Jingrui Plaza, Shimen.

#1440: 58-year-old male, lives in Ciyun Garden, Ciyun Mountain, works at Connaught Road West, worked with colleagues in drinking water
#1450 #1458: couple , 89-year-old male and 73-year-old female, living in Caihua Building, Niuchi Bay, collecting sample bottles and found case
#1463: living in Ansong Building, Shun'an Village, there was a gathering on Father's Day, but no obvious high-risk factors were found
#1444: 48-year-old female, He lives in Cizhen Village, Ciyun Mountain. He had eaten at the Cuihe Restaurant with the initially diagnosed cases. He went to the Wong Tai Sin Center to buy rice cakes.

Asked whether the epidemic has reached a point where it is out of control, Zhang Zhujun pointed out that it is unknown how long the epidemic will continue to erupt. "Of course I hope it can be stopped quickly, but the situation at home does not seem to be easy to stop." She explained that the diagnosis involves all walks of life. The industry also lives and works in different places, and has contact with family members, relatives and friends. The diagnosed persons are also involved in restaurants. "I have a good chance to continue to spread."

She also made it clear that if the public "walks cautiously", stays out of the street and has fewer gatherings, staying at home and reducing contact with others may slow down the spread of the virus, and may even have the opportunity to "stop" the epidemic, "but all people must cooperate. She repeatedly reminded that if the public is as slack as before, there is a chance of an outbreak, and "confirmed cases will increase geometrically."
Shuiquan'ao Village and Cizheng Village have been hit by epidemics. Does the authorities need to seal the village? Zhang Zhujun said that he did not know the feasibility of the village closure in Hong Kong and needed to conduct further research. She also pointed out that there are not only outbreaks in one or two housing estates. Cases have also been seen in many places in Hong Kong.
