The firefighters made a macabre discovery in Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry (Seine-et-Marne) this Sunday. That of the body of a man, who was in a plastic barrel floating on the Seine.
The body, which bore "traces of stab wounds" was discovered around noon by firefighters who were carrying out an exercise, according to a judicial source.
Inside, the body was probably "weighted with weights", according to the police.
An investigation was opened for homicide and entrusted to the judicial police of Versailles, indicated to the Parisian the prosecutor of Melun, Béatrice Angelelli. The victim is a man, but no information concerning his identification has been communicated at this stage.
