The Azeri claimed to have lost two soldiers and caused an unknown number of casualties to the Armenians. The Armenians, for their part, claimed that they had not suffered any casualties during the skirmish.

"The provocation carried out by Armenia is further proof that the government in Yerevan is not interested in resolving the Armenian-Azeri conflict in the negotiating way. The unit to the added situation, "added Hajib.

Armenia and Azerbaijan fought in 1994 for control of the Nagorno Crabbach region, which has a large Armenian population but is internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan's territory. Both countries have never signed a peace agreement after the war and despite peace talks, the region remains very tense.
