2020-07-14T16:39:07.714Z

The drama experienced by Nicolas Gigot, young Belgian pillar of Bourg-en-Bresse, moves the world of rugby. Anonymous but also Top 14 players and big names in the oval ball (Jonny Wilkinson, Dan Carter, Sonny Bill Williams, Quade Cooper, Mako Vunipola ...) have posted many messages ...

Her life changed on June 16. Victim that day of discomfort during the resumption of physical activity with his club Bourg-en-Bresse (National). After 30 minutes of jogging, Nicolas Gigot, a young player of 19, collapsed. Immediately transported to the hospital, he was quickly plunged into an artificial coma, struck by hyperthermia and hepatitis.

Since then, the Belgian pillar, the great hope of the Bressan club, has waged a terrible battle. An emergency liver transplant on June 18, his condition continued to deteriorate. Doctors were forced on July 4 to amputate his right leg, which was necrotic at the level of the thigh. And, last Thursday, July 9, they had to resolve to amputate his left leg for the same reason.

We think strongly of Nicolas Gigot who is always fighting tirelessly!

USBPA players wanted to send him a message and for those who can, there is a kitty to help Nicolas and his family

To help his son get through these terrible trials, his father worked to mobilize the world of rugby. To solicit messages of support to help Nicolas morally to fight, to win this battle against evil. He thus opened on the social network Facebook a page entitled "All together in the fray with Nico". In which he gives poignant news of his son. "He won't let it go. That is my son for that ... "And do not hide that the fight is not won. “He did not get out of the business, however. The coming weeks are and will remain critical. As long as he does not come out of resuscitation the match will be tight, tense, complicated. But victory still in the sights and the one and only goal. ”

To win it, Nicolas' dad relies on everyone's messages. From the most anonymous to the most famous. “We are counting on everyone to send him not only good vibes, prayers (…). He is going to need psychological support to help him digest what has fallen on him. I therefore invite you once again to send me voice messages, video, written anything that can help. (…) He is a brave, valiant warrior and I know he will succeed. ”

Thank you @JonnyWilkinson for this beautiful message to the attention of Nicolas! He continues to fight tirelessly and we all think very hard of him!
