Plus 10.7 points in one year! According to the results published on Monday by the Créteil academy, 98.2% of students in general education in Seine-Saint-Denis obtained their baccalaureate after the remedial session (against 98.4% nationally) . Last year, they were only 87.5% to have passed the exam in the department.

Throughout France, success rates are up sharply compared to the 2019 session. Because of the coronavirus crisis, only continuous assessment scores were taken into account in the results. There were no past exams, with the exception of those organized for catch-up students.

The high school students in the technology terminal class are doing almost as well as their classmates, since they have a success rate of 94.8% in the department (against 95.7% nationally). That of the professional sectors reached 87% (against 90.7% at the national level).

"The commissions were kind"

Results that do not really surprise Anne Pieter, co-president of the parents' association FCPE 93: “The commissions were kind because the end of the year was difficult for the students. But we also know that this is good for National Education, because with the reform of the bac, the system could not manage repeaters. "

The generalist streams have indeed disappeared in 1st grade since September 2019 with the reform of the baccalaureate. Students now follow core curriculum lessons, to which are added various options. The baccalaureate passed by these new students in 2021 will therefore have nothing to do with that of 2019.

“This success rate still raises questions, notes Anne Pieter. How will higher education manage pupils who normally would not have had their baccalaureate and all those who lack a trimester of training? "
