Inspectors from the Jerusalem Municipality, accompanied by police forces, evacuated the chairlift in front of the Prime Minister's House on Balfour Street in Jerusalem this morning (Monday). Last night the encampment was evacuated, but in the early hours of the morning the demonstrators returned and rebuilt it.

The inspectors removed the protest signs on the spot and loaded the equipment placed by the demonstrators in the area on the municipal vehicles. During the evacuation operations, clashes broke out between the protesters and the forces. According to some of the protesters, the inspectors used unreasonable force against them and acted contrary to the conclusion reached yesterday.

The Jerusalem municipality said that the protesters' equipment was being evacuated after "it was placed without a permit and violated public order." The municipality further stated: "Any allegation of the use of violence by members of the enforcement department against the demonstrators and harm to a person - was examined and found to be false and denied any basis."
