A 16-year-old teenager from the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence was killed Sunday in a brawl in Bras (Var) where some were armed with knives or bats, announced yesterday the prosecutor's office of Draguignan.

Some 14 witnesses interviewed in the evening confirmed the confrontation between two groups, some being hooded and armed, said the prosecution which opened an investigation " for intentional homicide and willful violence with weapons and in a meeting ".
The facts occurred around 8 p.m. near the Bras stadium, at the foot of the Sainte-Baume massif. The victim, coming from Manosque and who presented stab wounds, died soon after his treatment. Another 18-year-old boy was seriously injured, but his life prognosis is not yet in jeopardy. For the moment, there has been no arrest. An autopsy must be performed on the victim's body.
