(CNN Spanish) - Starting on July 27, an alert system distributed in 4 colors will be implemented in Guatemala, depending on the situation facing each municipality in the country, derived from the number of cases of covid-19 infection.

On a national network, President Alejandro Giammattei said that a system in national broadcasting consisting of four-color alerts: red, orange, yellow and green will be presented and will begin promoting this Monday.

Red will represent the maximum alert (25 cases per c / 100,000 inhabitants). In these cases there will be no public transport and mobility will be limited and shopping centers will not be able to open.

Orange is high alert and equates to limited public transportation mobility and opening of limited activities.

Yellow is moderate alert, with less limited flexibility, and green will represent the new normal.

Right now, much of the country is on red and orange alert although, according to the president, 241 municipalities are on yellow alert and, if they stay that way, on July 27 they would start with activities according to this color.

The next two weeks the provisions regarding the curfew will be maintained from 6:00 pm to 5:00 am. And starting next Saturday, the curfew will take place from 2:00 pm to 5:00 am the following Monday.

Guatemala has faced this pandemic since March 13.
