Guayas, the focus of the virus in Ecuador 4:42
(CNN Spanish) - The governor of the Ecuadorian province of Guayas, Pedro Pablo Duart, presented his "irrevocable" resignation on Monday.
Through a letter that he published on Twitter, Duart thanked President Lenín Moreno for his confidence, and affirmed that he had fulfilled the mandate that he exercised since August 2019 "with transparency, honesty and without rest."
In a video released by the government, Duart said that his management had to face "the worst health crisis" and, among his achievements, he highlighted the delivery of humanitarian assistance and medical supplies.
Guayasenses: I fulfilled the objectives that I set myself when accepting the position: to recover the honor that the position of Governor deserves, as well as the institution that welcomes it. We work on several axes and the results are there.
