Last week, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Israel Katz presented a plan designed to stabilize the economy in the shadow of the corona crisis. Among other things, as part of the "Economic Safety Network for 2021-2020" program, a grant of up to NIS 7,500 was promised to the self-employed, but many of them are again disappointed by the Tax Authority's announcement of the amount to which they are entitled.

From next Wednesday, the grants will be transferred to the accounts of the self-employed, who suffered a fatal economic blow following the spread of the plague and the closures that followed. But despite the cries of the self-employed, thousands of whom visited Rabin Square in Tel Aviv last weekend in protest of the severe damage to their income, many of them will receive a minimum grant of only NIS 2,000 a month. Some of the self-employed will receive an amount of less than NIS 7,500 - the maximum grant amount.

In fact, in previous beats, the average grant was NIS 4,000 - and this is not going to change even according to the new plan published last Thursday. The change will be in the number of beneficiaries increased, not in the amount of the grant.

Under the new conditions, everyone whose taxable annual income is up to NIS 640,000 and whose sales turnover is affected by at least 40%, instead of 50% in previous beats, will be entitled to a grant. The grant will be at a rate of 70% and as stated up to NIS 7,500. Only those whose taxable income is NIS 10,715 and more and does not exceed NIS 53,333 per month, on an annual basis, and whose sales have been affected by at least 40% - will enjoy the maximum grant.
