Domiciled in Gironde, a young man, 17 years old at the time of the facts, who had sent numerous propaganda videos to adolescent girls, for his part, was found guilty of public apology for terrorism and sentenced to nine months of imprisonment, with a probationary stay.

Originally from Nord-Isère, the first radicalized girl, aged 17 at the time of the facts and presented as the leader of the project, was sentenced last Tuesday to 15 months in prison, including five months with probationary suspension. Her youngest daughter, 14 years old at the time of the events, was sentenced to 10 months' imprisonment with a probationary suspension, her judgment having been recognized as impaired by psychiatric experts.

"A favorable development for convicts during the investigation"

" The crime of association of criminals with terrorist intent, which would have required referral to the national anti-terrorist prosecution, had not been retained in this case to take into account in particular the age of the perpetrators, " said the prosecutor of the Republic of Saint-Etienne, David Charmatz. These convictions, in accordance with the requisitions of the prosecution, " take into account a favorable development of the condemned during the investigation, thanks to the very important work of monitoring the Judicial Protection of Youth " responsible for judicial controls, said the prosecutor.

The case had started on November 9 and 10, 2018 with the arrest by the judicial police of the two teenage girls following the revelation made to the toll free number of the National Center for Assistance and Prevention of Radicalization of a project attack that they allegedly fomented after converting to Islam. The youngest had quickly recognized that she had the plan to " die a martyr " by attacking, with her elder, the central police station of Saint-Etienne armed with knives.
