Controversial victory: Last night (Sunday) the elections for the chairmanship of the World Likud took place among the members of the Likud Center. In the main battle between MK Miki Zohar, who is supported by Prime Minister Netanyahu, and Yaakov Hagoel, the current chairman, Zohar won with 1,025 votes compared to Hagoel's 909.

In third place is Haim Katz's list with 635 votes and Eitan Cohen with 158 votes. The rest of the lists did not pass the blocking percentage.

According to Zohar's men, this is a significant victory. According to Hagoel, this is precisely his success, as he won about 31 percent of the delegates of the Israel branch to the World Likud Conference, ahead of the decision next week regarding the election of the chairman of the World Likud and his representatives to the World Zionist Congress.  

According to Hagoel, at the World Likud conference, the Israeli branch of the Likud has a 40% weight in the election of the chairman and the institutions. The remaining 60% is the votes of Likud representatives from 41 countries abroad. It is estimated that the issue will be discussed in the Likud court. MK Zohar: "I would like to thank the members of the center for the amazing trust I received, this is an amazing and unprecedented result."
