Pouille operated on at the elbow, uncertain for Roland-Garros

The statement said the decision to have an operation was made after trying all the other protocols. Pouille suffered several relapses and he recently carried out new medical examinations which convinced him that surgery was the best solution. Lucas Pouille, winner of five tournaments in his career, also allowed the French team to win the Davis Cup by beating the Belgian Steve Darcis in the fifth match of the 2017 final.
