Before July 18, the date on which this phase of isolation ends due to the increase in cases of coronavirus in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA), the national government together with the Buenos Aires and Buenos Aires citizens must decide whether or not to relax the quarantine. And within this framework, the Province warned to be "on alert" for Friend's Day, which is celebrated on Monday the 20th.

"The friend's day is an alert, our society has a habit of making massive celebrations and they cannot be done, we must begin to notice it from now on. It cannot be celebrated ”, warned Teresa García, the government minister of Axel Kicillof.

In addition, he announced that in a meeting scheduled for this Tuesday with the 35 mayors of the municipalities of the AMBA who "have more difficulties" due to the coronavirus, the topic of celebrations for that day will be discussed. "We are going to see what messages we all come out with to say that you cannot celebrate and that you have to wait until next year," said the Buenos Aires official.

On the other hand, García told details of the meeting between the governor and the head of the Buenos Aires government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta: "A list of possible openings that the City wants to make in a progressive plan has transpired, but the province has not yet defined the reopening We are waiting for the number of cases to be confirmed between today and tomorrow to make a decision. "

He also assured that "in the meeting that will take place between Thursday and Friday with President Alberto Fernández, a decision will be made."

Consulted on Radio 10 about her opinion about the possible flexibility from July 18, García said: “ It seems risky to open activities in a context of growth in the number of infections , because to this day it is very little they have come down. "

He also referred to the alternatives that are being considered in the province for a possible reopening of activities, and explained: "The Governor expressed that there are different models to get out of long quarantines, one is that of stop and go , open and close. For me, what you have to do is that if you decide to open an activity, in accordance with the City, you have to take care and if you don't take care, close it again. "

In this sense, he pointed to the individual responsibility of the citizens: "We have seen that care costs a lot, people are fed up and want to leave their home. There are things that can be done and others that are not: the soccer snack, the Beer on the corner, the little dance with a DJ can't be done ”.

Although he also made a self-criticism for the lack of official dissemination of personal care at this stage and in possible openings in the future: "More teaching must be done because the State will not reach to determine how to act for each citizen."

"When I see that there was a party of 200 people in La Plata, I wonder if those people thought that by going to have fun they put at risk that another 200 citizens could open their premises," reflected the Buenos Aires official.
