A 71-year-old hiker fell dead Tuesday while he was near the summit of Mont de Grange, in the Chablais massif (Haute-Savoie), we learned from the emergency services.

The man fell, for unspecified reasons, while traveling on an " aerial path " at an altitude of around 2,400 meters in the company of his wife, said the High Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon (PGHM) of Chamonix. The victim's wife is unharmed.
