"United in diversity. To face the present and build a decent future for all Argentines"

"The COVID-19 pandemic has put the world before a challenge of enormous drama. To the lives that are lost and to the challenge that it represents for the health care of the population are added the consequences of an economic and social crisis that it is still difficult to size.

Argentines who subscribe to this appeal are aware that an extremely serious situation requires extraordinary efforts as well.

Today more than ever we need to be united, putting down pettiness and making the dream many times postponed to act as a Nation come true. Each with their own identity, but together to go through this crucial moment and draw the basic guidelines for the reconstruction of the country.

Democracy is the system in which we choose to live. It is the institutions of the Republic that must define the appropriate tools to face the pressing challenges of the present and outline the policies aimed at overcoming its consequences.

Unfortunately, society's trust in our institutions is weak and, precisely, it is the three branches of the State who, even with the limitations imposed by health recommendations, have to fulfill their non-delegable role and try to rebuild that trust.

We must add intelligence, debate, creativity and the Congress of the Nation is the appropriate environment to agree on consensus. The law must be respected and for this the Judicial Power must fulfill its role without interference from the other powers of the State. We will emerge from the emergency with more democracy, not less.

At the same time that we reaffirm our commitment to the aforementioned postulates, we believe that the situation requires new and bold tools.

The pandemic has exposed, more harshly than ever, the social inequality that prevails in Argentina. The exceptional situation that shocks us will deepen that gap and add pain to existing ones. There is no time to lose.

For this reason, we propose that the Executive Power, with the support of Congress, through the authorities of the legislative blocs, urgently convene a national dialogue table. It is time to implement a plan of minimum coincidences that integrates political parties, the production and work sectors, representatives of the informal economy, social organizations, the educational community, professional entities, religious congregations and other entities. representative of civil society.

No one can remain indifferent, because our immediate future is also at stake.
