(CNN Spanish) - The Ministry of Sport of Colombia reported, through a statement, that on July 20 it will send a flight to Europe with more than 150 high-performance athletes to resume their official competitions on the sports calendar that It starts in the second semester of 2020.
The flight, which will be operated by the company Avianca, will send athletes in a state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which will be equipped with the highest biosecurity standards, assures the Colombian Ministry of Sport.
The ministry added that all athletes have undergone numerous covid-19 diagnostic tests, following safety protocols.
A large part of the athletes who will arrive in Madrid on July 20 are cyclists, among whom are the current Tour de France champion, Egan Bernal; the champion of the Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a España, Nairo Quintana, and the Olympic cycling medalist Rigoberto Uran, who are scheduled to compete in the famous “Big Three of Cycling”, the Giro d'Italia, the Tour de France and the Vuelta to Spain.
