With five open investigations against him in the Judicial Council, for alleged illicit enrichment, alleged bribes and bribery requests and even an alleged collection of ex-SIDE bonuses , along with the use of private business planes that were involved in cases of corruption, Judge Canicoba Corral decided to resign his post.

"I have the honor of addressing Your Excellency in my capacity as Titular Judge of the Federal Federal Criminal and Correctional Court No. 6 of the Federal Capital, a position with which I was honored more than twenty-seven years ago , in order to raise your consideration my resignation to said position, from the 30th of the current month and year ", sustains the resignation presented by Canicoba Corral.

The federal judge will be 75 years old on July 29 and his resignation already presented is under analysis in the Ministry of Justice in charge of Marcela Losardo, where they pointed out that prior to their acceptance, requests must be made to the Council of the Magistracy to know, for example, in what situation are the complaints against him. 

Hours after his decision was known, in an interview with El Destape radio , the controversial Comodoro Py magistrate blamed the media and insisted that they led "a grinding campaign" against him.

Similar words were used in the resignation of a face that raised the President of the Nation, where in the first place he referred to the limit imposed on him by his age. "On the 29th the resignation becomes effective because it turns 75, it could only be reversed if Alberto Fernández sends his statement to the Senate," they said from the court.

Despite this first foundation, Canicoba Corral went further, and said that he also leaves the court he has held for more than two decades "due to the weariness, although without having broken my will, of having suffered in the last four years a fierce campaign of defamation and media / political persecution of the media and various agencies that responded to the government of the time , as it is becoming known these days. "

The criticism points, among other things, to the complaints that weigh on him in the Council of the Magistracy for the inconsistencies in his assets: it was argued that there was no correlation between his income and expenses. Several properties and businesses that were difficult to explain with his federal judge salary appeared in the open processes . One of those properties is a house on Calle Monasterio, in Vicente López. Canicoba said he paid $ 650,000 for her, but that 80% is from his wife, Ana María Tejada Soriano. An apartment also appeared, on Francisco Seguí street in the Federal Capital that belongs to the firm Gadega SA, and land in Rocha, Uruguay, among other complaints.

It had also been known that he was renting a house in a country horse riding for a monthly value of $ 3,200 , according to the newspaper La Nación . That data earned him another complaint in the Council.

He was also being investigated for his wife's links with former sciolista and holder of Aguas Bonaerenses Guillermo Scarcela , with whom he had business, such as bag packing at Ezeiza airport through the Baggage company.

In addition, the Council sought to determine if the judge used business planes to fly to Uruguay . That file was still open in the Magistracy.

The most relevant causes for the political leadership passed through his office at various times. From the attack on AMIA to the investigation against former Environment Secretary María Julia Alsogaray , which led to her arrest.

It was precisely the file for the AMIA case that received several criticisms. In this regard, he defended himself and maintained: "It is part of the smear and smear campaign of various media.
