Following the demonstration yesterday near the prime minister's residence and the arrests made in its wake, retired officials today (Wednesday) attacked Minister of Internal Security Amir Ohana and Jerusalem District Commander Doron Yadid.

In WhatsApp correspondence sent to a group of members of the "Commissioners and Returns Forum" club, which reached Israel Today, some members of the group criticized the conduct of the police after the demonstrations, and wrote, among other things, that the Jerusalem district commander was "stupid" and that Minister Ohana wrote "The appointment of Bibi's Minister of Internal Security was successful, these are flattery arrests. Enough with innocence."

It should be noted that in recent weeks, following the rise in enforcement of Corona police orders, the police have been on the offensive in light of a number of publications on the use of force in civilian arrests and following arrests of rioters in demonstrations against and on behalf of the government and prime minister. Until recently, club members defended the police and the law enforcement system, the prime minister and his allegations against the conduct of his investigations were also directed and he said that "investigators should be investigated".

But yesterday, as mentioned, the tones changed. In another correspondence, one of them wrote, among other things: "In light (or darkness) of the shame I feel in the face of MMAZ's statement, this is a left-wing demonstration saying this - is he just stupid, or is he asking the minister for votes?" That's how it is in the eye of the storm. '

Former commissioners who are members of the club told Israel Today yesterday that this does not reflect all the members. "Some members have taken a private stance on the WhatsApp platform," said one former commissioner, "what the forum has to say to the police we have said." It should be noted that this is a letter sent by the club members on July 15 to Deputy Commissioner General Moti Cohen in which they expressed appreciation and appreciation for the work of the police in the Corona crisis.

One of the club members attacked his friends and said, 'This is very serious, it shows that this club has become a political club. As former police officers one should not condemn neither this nor that. Even so, there is no chance that the police will do well in the eyes of the public, it goes without saying, the police are not the IDF.

The chairman of the club, retired rabbi Karadi Moshe, responded: "The club of retired rabbis  is a members' club that manages the relationship between them, among other things, through the WhatsApp app. The club group is intended to convey messages to members about the club's activities. From time to time the members of the club express their opinion on the activities of the police and sometimes one opinion or another provokes a dialogue between the members.

The club has 86 retired members with different political opinions and views from across the political spectrum. Most of the club's activities focus on supporting the police and police, as expressed in a statement distributed today to Israeli police officers. To support in every possible way the Israel Police and its police officers and commanders while expressing their professional opinion. "
