Is the rebirth of the Mustang, the GT and now the Bronco according to a neo-retro interpretation the admission of a lack of inspiration or the reflection of an America decidedly incapable of projecting into the world of the 21st century? Everyone will appreciate. The fact remains that in the United States the myths are tenacious and always sell. The proof: the Mustang still unleashes passions even after 55 years of career. It is so true that Ford dared to put the logo on the emblem of the Apaches horse known for its power and speed on the hood of a 100% electric SUV launched in early 2021.

After the Mustang and the GT, Ford has thus decided to revive the surname Bronco, abandoned since 1996. It will not surprise anyone: the new 4 x 4 of the firm with the blue oval is riding the neo-retro wave, reviving the original forms of his elder's leisure break. Nostalgics will applaud this exercise which only follows a trend as evidenced by Jeep which resuscitated the Wrangler or Land Rover which continues to renew the Range Rover taking care not to stray too far from the matrix.
Ford
Recognizable among a thousand thanks to its lines which preserve the codes of its elders, the new Bronco will be available in three bodies. Unlike yesterday's world, Ford is skipping the pick-up, a field now occupied by the F-150, in favor of a 5-door body, a first for the Bronco. This version complements a widely customizable 2-door model.

With the Bronco, forget about the pipe bending at the door: the door panels are removable. The adventure will be at the end of the street because Ford announces a multitude of configurations by adding the notches in the doors, the removable roof and the range of 200 accessories already developed.
Retro style but digital instrumentation
It will not fail to surprise, if the envelope is neo-retro, the passenger compartment really installs the occupants in the world of the 21st century with its large central screen, its multifunction steering wheel borrowed from a sedan, its digital instrumentation and its piloting rotary button driving modes electronically and adapting all-wheel drive to different types of terrain. Seven modes are thus available to the driver. The latter will allow you to venture into a ford with a depth of 850 mm.

If an arrival in Europe is not envisaged for the moment, the presence under the hood of the 2.3-liter Ecoboost 4-cylinder with 270 hp is likely to encourage it. This mechanism already powers the Mustang and the Focus. In the case of the Bronco, the 310hp 4-cylinder is associated, as desired, with a 7-speed manual or ten-speed automatic transmission.
