Chen Haohuan said at the press conference that the primary election is an event jointly organized by 610,000 Hong Kong citizens, candidates and democrats in the primary election. It will never violate the National Security Law. He emphasized that relevant parties should respect the citizens’ right to vote and their choices. No one should be suppressed by DQ, otherwise it will be the entire democratic faction of DQ.
When asked why he opposed the postponement of the election, Chen Haohuan responded that many experts pointed out that the third wave of outbreaks was related to insufficient quarantine measures and was not due to anything done by the democrats. He pointed out that in the past few weeks, experts and democrats have been asking the government to do a good job of preventing the epidemic, but the government has been delaying it before the outbreak. Therefore, instead of considering canceling the election, the government should take all measures to prevent the epidemic.
He also pointed out that many foreign countries have held general elections this year, and they have introduced special measures to make the elections go smoothly. The epidemic in Hong Kong is no longer as severe as in places like Singapore where the elections have just been held. Chen Haohuan also pointed out that once the election is postponed, it will not have a great impact on the election of the democratic parties. However, the election is a constitutional responsibility and will affect people's livelihood projects including the epidemic prevention and anti-epidemic fund, so it should not be postponed. Social citizen Liang Guoxiong added that if the epidemic cannot be suppressed, Chief Executive Carrie Lam should step down. He asked US President Trump whether he would dare to use the epidemic as an excuse to postpone the election.

He also pointed out that the government has never stated why the "35+" of the democrats is illegal, and that "35+" is to exercise the veto power guaranteed by the Basic Law.
Zhang Kunyang, a former spokesperson for the Civil Diplomacy Network, pointed out that after the results of the primary election are released, the public will expect them to coordinate. Therefore, several candidates from Kowloon West will submit the application form together to stand for unity. Liu Wei-kuang, who is running for the New Territories East, said that the primary election is not only an election, but a large-scale mass movement. The future suppression will also be irrespective of faction. The citizens must support regardless of faction in September. I believe that September 6 will be an even more magnificent movement.
Chen Zhiquan pointed out that all the camps that participated in the elections were to seize the dominance of the parliament. In the past, the establishment had asked why the democrats would break the law if they wanted to gain dominance. Cen Aohui, who participated in the election of the Super District Council, mentioned that the Legislative Council, as a constitutional body, cannot be closed due to the epidemic. He asked, "Will Lam Chenghui return to work because he doesn't want to return to work?" Regardless of their position in September, citizens should protect themselves and should not take the epidemic lightly.
