The United States has, for the seventh consecutive day, recorded more than 60,000 new cases of coronavirus contamination in 24 hours, according to the count Monday at 8:30 p.m. (2:30 in France on Tuesday) from Johns Hopkins University.

The 61,288 new infections recorded in one day bring the total number of positive cases in the country to more than 3.82 million since the start of the pandemic, which appeared in December in China before spreading to the rest of the world.
448 dead in 24 hours
The Covid-19 also caused the death of 448 people in 24 hours, for a total of 140,922 deaths, according to the university based in Baltimore, whose reports refer. By far the most affected country in the world in absolute terms, the United States has recorded more than 60,000 new cases every day for a week, with a peak at 77,638 cases on Friday.

The outbreak of infections is particularly important in the south and west of the country. The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalized in Los Angeles, California, reached a new record this weekend.
In Florida, another focus of the epidemic on American soil, Monday only 18% of beds available in intensive care units remained. Criticized for his management of the health crisis and in particular his refusal to order the wearing of the generalized mask, the governor of the State Ron DeSantis called on his citizens to do a serological test and to donate their plasma if they had antibodies.
