Four men and one woman accused of fighting were arrested afterwards and charged with one count of conspiracy to wound with intent, alleging that they had assaulted three other men. The case was brought to the Fanling Magistrates’ Court today (21st). They do not need to respond for the time being. The case is postponed to this Friday (24th) for hearing again, during which all the defendants are remanded under police custody.
5 defendants: Zhou Yanlong (20 years old), Fang Jiyan (20 years old), Guo Guixi (22 years old), Huang Hanwen (25 years old) and Li Jiaxi (female, 19 years old). Except for Li Bao, who was called a student, the other four defendants all reported unemployed. The court revealed that Huang is a chef.
The defendant refused to apply for bail
The charges allege that they conspired to harm Han Jiahao, Chen Haoqi and He Jiashun illegally and maliciously while attempting to cause serious bodily harm to others outside the Kaidu Theater in Yadu Shopping Mall in Tuen Mun on July 19 this year.
The prosecution applied for adjournment of the case until this Friday, during which the identification procedures will be carried out. The defense applied for bail for the five defendants, but the magistrate refused.
The victim's friend was hit by a car and died
It is reported that the three victims met Li and another woman before they were involved in the case, and they met each other for drinking, but Li informed his friends to come. Several private cars arrived later, the first 4 defendants got off the car and were involved in assaulting 3 victims.
The five defendants then left the scene, while the friend Zhou Jiajun (21 years old) of the three victims arrived to assist. However, Zhou was knocked down by a private car during the chase and got caught under the car and died. Five defendants were arrested later.
