Foreign Minister Felipe Solá assured on Thursday that Venezuela's "is an authoritarian government, without a doubt," although he stressed that it has "legitimate origin."

Asked on La Red radio about whether he considers that there is a rule of law in the country that Nicolás Maduro governs, Solá replied that he is "Irregular".

"The government is of legitimate origin, has a quasi-war relationship with the tough opposition ... And at the same time Venezuela is terribly hit by the price of oil and by the amount of sanctions and blockades it has," he analyzed, although he warned that "there is a great facility to put political prisoners . "

"Then they usually release them, although not always. The government is authoritarian, without a doubt," he added.

Last week, the recurrent debate on Venezuela had generated tensions in the ruling party, with different positions found: after receiving criticism from Hebe de Bonafini and Víctor Hugo Morales , among others, Alberto Fernández denied a change of position, assured that his government "made the approach that he always does "and questioned the blockade suffered by Venezuela.

Regarding the evolution of the coronavirus in Argentina, the official said that "the important thing is to overcome the pandemic and see if we can start the economy."

On the other hand, Solá differentiated the post-pandemic situation from that of 2001: "In 2001 there were no international changes, the issue was Argentina, there was a very high exchange rate and there were good international prices for raw materials."

"The impact will be less, because the preparation for that situation will be generalized, " he said.

In addition, Solá rejected that there are inmates in the Front of All, arguing that "what there is is a pandemic, an unprecedented situation that covers everything," and said that, "in the midst of the pandemic, it is logical that there are differences in opinion".

"Furthermore, it seems to me that Cristina Fernández de Kirchner is the vice president and has every right to express an opinion," he said.

Asked if there is "friendly fire" within the government coalition, Solá characterized the official space as "a collective" and assured that on social networks "you see a lot of cars."

When answering a question regarding recent statements by Nora Cortiñas, referring to Mothers of Plaza de Mayo, Founding Line, who said that Solá should leave the Cabinet, the foreign minister preferred "to remain silent" and not defend himself .

"One has an enormous respect for personal history and for Argentine history, and for that reason, I was silent. I have treated her and suddenly released that and said that half the cabinet has to be imprisoned," lamented Solá.

In relation to the Memorandum of Understanding with Iran signed during the Government of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, he assured that it was "a serious error" , maintaining that it contained articles that said that "a judge could go to Iran to take a statement from the accused in the presence of the Iranian Justice, which went against the sovereignty of the Argentine Judicial Power ".

Likewise, he thought that "the point of thinking that a commission of notables was going to clarify what it cost so much to clarify was naive", but, nevertheless, Solá considered that the Memorandum "is not treason to the homeland" .
