Last update date: 2020-07-24 03:16An arson incident occurred at Leung Chik Wai Memorial Middle School, Lok Shan Church, Cheung Hong Village, Tsing Yi. In the early morning of Friday (24th), flammable objects were thrown in the flower trough of the school gate, which exploded and caught fire. The board burned along the wall to the top of the 1st floor of concrete.
The firefighter seized white electric oil cans, beer bottles and small LPG tanks after the incident. It is not excluded that the suspect committed a crime by bundling dangerous goods into a bunch of "gasoline bombs". The police are looking for two men in black.

The incident occurred at about 0:58 in the morning when the flower trough of the school's gate suddenly caught fire. The tongue of the fire was burned along the wall and the concrete canopy on the first floor. The school security guard and many residents were surprised by the explosion and called the police. The fire rushed to put out the fire, but no casualties or the need to evacuate during the fire.
It can be seen from the online footage that the school’s main entrance wall and the concrete canopy were engulfed by flames, and black smoke billowed. Before a large number of firefighters arrived, the fire was put out by shooting water.
Firefighters later seized 1 white electric oil can, 1 beer bottle and 4 small LPG cans. It was suspected that someone had bundled the dangerous goods into a bunch of "petrol bombs" and threw them at the school. It is understood that the school security witnessed two men wearing black shirts and black pants fleeing the scene. The Criminal Investigation Team of the Kwai Tsing Police District has taken over the investigation.
According to sources, the eight glass doors of the school were also destroyed in May this year. They were not replaced until recently. It is unknown whether it is related to the case.
