Among 21% of the adult population in Israel (aged 21 and over) - about 1.2 million people, they or one of their household members has reduced the amount of food or the number of meals they eat during the past week. In the Arab sector, the rate is higher - 33%.

The data come from a survey conducted by the Central Bureau of Statistics on the issue of civil resilience against the background of the corona crisis. These are the findings of a third round of the survey conducted in mid-July.

This rate (21%) is higher than in the previous round, which was held in May (14%). It was also found that 85% fear that they will not be able to cover their monthly expenses.

The health condition of 8.5% of those surveyed, about 478.6 thousand people, worsened or worsened during the crisis. Among those aged 65 and over, the rate is even higher at 13%.

A feeling of stress and anxiety accompanies 42% of the respondents during this period. This is about 2.4 million people, of which 15% responded to a large extent and 27% to a certain extent. This is compared to 33% in the previous survey.

A feeling of depression accompanies 21% of the population, compared to 16% in the previous survey, and a feeling of loneliness accompanies 19% of the population, similar to the previous survey. 65% of the population are afraid of contracting the virus.

Regarding their economic situation, about half of the population (55%) are afraid of difficulty in covering their expenses. The situation is even worse among the Arab population - where it is 65%.

Regarding public discipline, it appears that the majority of the public follows the guidelines. More than 80% of the public largely follows the guidelines. The rate of those who trust the government in dealing with the crisis is 47%. This rate is lower than the rate recorded in May - 69%.

As for trust in the health care system, 77% responded that they trust the health care system, health funds and hospitals. 62% trust the Ministry of Health and 38% do not trust or do not trust it at all.

The first round of the survey on the civil resilience of the Israeli public was conducted at the end of April. Another round was held in mid-May, and in mid-July the current survey was conducted.
