Hezbollah Deputy Secretary-General Naim Qassem was interviewed this evening (Sunday) by the Al-Mayadin network close to the terrorist organization, and stressed that he would not give a specific answer about a possible response to the attack attributed to Israel in Syria last week. Ali Kamel Muhsin, a Syrian military source, said seven soldiers in the Assad regime were wounded in the bombing.

During the interview, the senior member of the terrorist organization clarified that "the warning equation with Israel still exists and there will be no correction in it." He added that "there is no change in the rules for opening fire and regarding the incident - there is no response now."

In light of Defense Minister Bnei Gantz's remarks today in the north, Qassem said: "The Israeli threats will never lead us to a position that we are not interested in." The senior official also claimed that Israel had sent warning messages through the UN, as reported in the Lebanese network.

However, Qassem said that while "the axis of resistance was and still is in the defensive position", he ruled out the possibility of a war atmosphere in the coming months. "If Israel decides to start a war, we will fight and respond - and the Tammuz War (the Second Lebanon War) will be the first model for a response," he noted.

As stated, in view of the warming of the northern sector, Defense Minister Bnei Gantz today visited the Northern Command and said that "Israel will continue to stand up for its security interests and prevent an Iranian establishment in Syria." Ganz clarified that Israel "is not looking for unnecessary escalations." The IDF estimates that Hezbollah has decided to initiate an attack that will be carried out in the coming days.

During his visit, the Minister of Defense conducted an assessment of the situation on the ground with the participation of Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi, Commander of the Northern Command, Maj. Gen. Amir Baram, Chief of the Armed Forces, Maj. Gen. Tamir Heiman, "I came to take a closer look at the IDF's deployment in the face of tensions," Ganz said at the end of his visit. "I was very impressed by the depth of the operation, and the manner in which the IDF forces deploy throughout the Northern Command area."
