"It is the Social Security that will coordinate the implementation of the 'grant for every citizen' program," Social Security Director General Meir Spiegler announced today (Sunday) in a briefing call, after the program had been approved earlier by the government.  

Spiegler made it clear that the amounts due to children will go to those who usually receive the child allowance. According to him, each citizen will receive NIS 750 of the grant separately. Couples who manage a joint account will receive the amount in their account - for a couple, or for a family. Soldiers will also be eligible for the grant.

Those who receive income supplement, new immigrants and other needy people, as well as those entitled to alimony and those entitled to general disability - will be entitled to a double grant.

Spiegler updated that since the announcement of the plan, the National Insurance Institute has managed to "collect another 1.167 million bank accounts that we did not have. The goal is that by the time the law is approved we will have all the bank accounts Through the Post Bank and they will be required to come to one of the Post Bank branches with the means of identification required to receive the grant amount in cash. "

Spiegler added that so far, the National Insurance Institute has already located 80% of the citizens' bank accounts for the purpose of transferring the grant. According to him, this is an unprecedented operation.

Spiegler further said that over half a million people will be eligible for a double grant due to their affiliation with one of the eligibility groups. Anyone with a gross income above NIS 650,000 per year will not be entitled to the grant, but his children will receive the grant in any case.
