Coronavirus outbreak in Marlins shakes league

The major leagues in the United States face their first major crisis from COVID-19 . The baseball (MLB), which started last Thursday, announced the suspension of two games on Monday.

The game between the Miami Marlins and the Baltimore Orioles was affected by an outbreak in the Florida team , and it was decided to cancel it. Seven players and two coaches tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the number of infected on campus to 13. The team remains locked in a hotel in Philadelphia.

Later, it was announced that the clash between the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies would not be played either , since the Marlins had come to play two games against the latter.

The tournament was cut to 60 games, with great security protocols and absence of public, but outbreaks have already occurred.
