Another shock in the Ministry of Finance: Ariel Yotzer, deputy budget director at the Ministry of Finance, announced his resignation today (Tuesday). A creator, who worked in the division for 12 years, was appointed to the position in 2017, at the same time as his appointment as chairman of the Committee for Preferred Housing Complexes (and TAML).

The outgoing deputy informed the commissioner that he began his career in the division in 2008 as a real estate and planning advocate. Later, he previously served as the coordinator of housing and construction and the coordinator of the field of interior and local government. As part of his role, Creator has led a series of reforms and structural changes, including creating the model for long-term rental housing complexes, formulating dozens of umbrella agreements with local authorities across the country and promoting the law to establish a fund to reduce gaps in local government. In addition, he led the move to exempt from business property taxes with the Ministry of the Interior and all local authorities in the country. During his tenure as chairman of the VOTAL, about 200,000 housing units were approved, as well as prominent plans in Herzliya, Lod, Rehovot and more.

A creator summed up his tenure by saying that "I have been given the privilege of being a partner and leading initiatives that have changed and improved the face of society and the economy.

Shaul Meridor, in charge of budgets, thanked the creator for his work: "He always acted with professionalism, dedication and a sense of mission. I thank him for many years of work in the public sector." About two weeks ago, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu attacked Meridor, claiming that "it is inconceivable that officials are working to thwart decisions made in the government."

The departure of a creator joins that of another senior official in the Ministry of Finance who announced his resignation this week - the accountant general in the ministry, Roni Hezekiah, who was supposed to continue in office until at least 2022. Hezekiah's termination will come at the end of an entire year with almost no approved state budget, during which he managed government spending in accordance with the "Basic Law: State Economy." In his resignation announcement, the Accountant General noted that his departure comes against the background of a sense of exhaustion from the post, in addition to the desire to clear the way for new incumbents.
