In a depressed transfer market and devalued by the pandemic and the economic crisis, the talks between two greats of local soccer generated the first great movement. Independiente and Boca opened the possibility of negotiating based on a request from Lucas Pusineri: Iván Marcone. But between the debts and the complications with litigation that live on the red side of Avellaneda, and some tempting options on the Independiente campus for Riquelme and company , a "swap plan" appeared that began to speak and that has several surnames in the scene to evaluate.

The good relationship between the Boca and Independiente leaderships was transferred to calls in the last hours, mainly due to the Hugo Moyano club's need to find solutions and strengthen itself in the midst of a deep economic crisis. At the Boca Football Council they showed a predisposition to speak, although they were also clear: the club will not interfere in conflicts and to let a player quoted in 6 million dollars go, he must receive names that enhance a champion team.

The urgency of Independiente to find a way out for the referents in conflict, such as Silvio Romero and Juan Sánchez Miño , coincide with a favorable view of Boca on the football potential that these two players can bring to them. So the chance to speak for a barter involving Iván Marcone quickly entered the scene. Even from the Boca Football Council they detail that Independiente also threw Cecilio Domínguez (another who does not want to continue in Avellaneda), who was the most expensive purchase in the history of the club, but who in recent times did not perform in soccer.

Why is there interest in Marcone? Lucas Pusineri's wardrobe needs a re-foundation of his leadership. And in the face of Lucas Biglia's refusal (he was the first coach of DT), the figure of Iván Marcone (captain in Arsenal, Lanús and Cruz Azul) may appear as a solution for the times to come. Even from the environment of the player -an Independent fan- they admit that he would accept a considerable reduction to get to wear red and fulfill an outstanding account in his career.

What interests Boca? For Riquelme and company, in the Independiente team there are players who can add a plus to the good team that Miguel Russo has. So they did not discard the Red Pack that was offered to them. In addition to Sánchez Miño's polyfunctionality, a good player like Romero (scorer of the tournament) can be added and Domínguez's alternative can even solve an eventual game by Sebastián Villa. But there is also a sensitive point: the contracts of each of those players. Because Boca is not willing to maintain the (high) wages that they drag from a  Devil  that for commitments like these was loaded with important debts.

What options does Pusineri think? Beyond Marcone, today the coach can accept that other players are included in the negotiation. Jan Hurtado's last name was mentioned, although from Boca they recognize that they would only let him go on loan without a purchase option and admit that it will be difficult to convince a footballer who refused to emigrate to Mexico. Gonzalo Maroni was also mentioned, but from Boca they believe that he is an interesting footballer to retain on campus.

Silvio Romero acknowledged that he maintained contacts with River and Boca, although at the same time he has offers from Mexico and Europe . Against the values of those markets, the Boca Football Council will not compete because the highest contract and that marked a top in the squad is that of Carlos Tevez. And another issue made clear by Riquelme with Independiente was that Boca wants all debts and lawsuits to be exempt from the responsibility of the La Ribera club. That is a non-negotiable condition. One detail: Independiente still has to pay Boca $ 600,000 for Pablo Pérez (he paid a fee in June and the next is in March) for the transfer in 2019.

The "exchange plan", after all, is an idea that has only just begun to take shape and that will later have to be aligned in wills on the part of various soccer players who have different interests. For now, the link between Independiente and Boca has brought positions closer in the intention of listening to what the Avellaneda club has to offer. At Brandsen 805 they are cautious. They listen, analyze and see what they can add to a squad that is already armed but that always has room for footballers who can give an extra face to the goals that are coming.
