Twenty-two people were killed and 21 injured, including seven seriously, in a collision between a minibus and a heavy goods vehicle in southern Mali, the transport ministry said on Tuesday.

The accident occurred around 9:00 a.m. (GMT and local) on Route Nationale 26 which links the capital Bamako to Guinea, between Kangaba and Bancoumana, according to a ministry statement.
