An island transfer plan has been launched. The government announces the sending of military personnel from the Safe Roads operation to oversee the reception centers for migrants, after the mass escapes in the Nisseno and Agrigento (ANSA)

Three boats, respectively with 106, 13 and 9 migrants on board, were tracked off the coast of Lampedusa (Ag) by patrol boats of the Coast Guard during the night. The people were disembarked at the commercial pier and then taken to the hotspot where the guests present arrived at 872 against a maximum capacity of 95.

And 43 migrants who, last night, were transferred by ferry to Porto Empedocle (Ag), from the island's hotspot. The group is already traveling to a reception facility in Palermo. The Prefecture of Agrigento, trying to lighten the presence in the hotspot, has planned for the late morning the transfer, again with the motor ship of the line, of 200 other people who, once they arrive in Porto Empedocle, will be loaded onto buses with destination some centers of welcome to Molise.

And it's a July of fire on the migrant front: the landings intensify, as well as the mass escapes from the centers, the opposition attacks the Government and the Foreign Minister, Luigi Di Maio, blurts out: "it is inconceivable that today someone, careless of the rules still in place, you think you're going around without complying with the quarantine requirement. This is a matter of public health. " From a health point of view, "the situation is under control", reassures the interior minister, Luciana Lamorgese, announcing the use of several hundred soldiers for the protection of the reception structures. The owner of the Interior Ministry flew to Tunis where she informed the President of the Republic, Kais Said, of the "serious problems" caused to Italy by the "uncontrolled flows", inviting him to act to strengthen supervision and prevent departures. Rome, for its part, is ready to support the efforts of the country that is in a serious economic and political crisis, with a resigned government.

In the meantime, after the 184 departed from the Cara of Pian del Lago (Caltanissetta), yesterday a hundred escaped from the tensile structure set up in Porto Empedocle (Agrigento). But almost all the fugitives have been traced, assured Lamorgese, who had a telephone conversation with the Sicilian governor Nello Musumeci, alarmed by the migratory pressure on the island. Military, said the owner of the Interior Ministry, will be sent to preside over the centers (in Sicily and Gorizia). Waiting for a large quarantine ship (500 seats) which will be operational "in the next few days" in Sicily in August, September and October, following a new tender, after the previous three tenders had gone deserted. The goal is to close the procedure within the week.

"The Interior Ministry is only now realizing that it has to stop the flows from Tunisia, with hundreds of immigrants fleeing from the reception and total silence centers on the redistribution of immigrants abroad". So the leader of the League Matteo Salvini who adds: "While the illegal immigrants arrive in droves, even with poodles evidently escaping the Libyan concentration camps, the Senate will decide on Thursday if I should be tried for defending the borders. Proud to have protected Italy and the Italians: I would do it again and do it again ".
