The Hong Kong Government yesterday (27th) decided to expand the scope of free testing for employees in higher-risk groups to include market stalls. The FEHD pointed out that the contractor Prenetics Limited is responsible for the testing provided for market stalls. Contractors have successively visited all markets in Hong Kong from today to distribute sample bottles to stall workers and resident staff and collect deep-throat saliva samples. Participants do not need to register online.

A spokesperson for the FEHD said that the contractor will provide a one-stop service. Apart from dispatching staff to distribute the sample bottles, the samples will also be collected for testing in the next 1-2 days. If the result is positive, the case will be immediately referred to the Centre for Health Protection for follow-up. The testing contractor expects that the markets in Wong Tai Sin and Kwun Tong will be covered in the next few days, and will be followed by other areas to arrange testing.
