Two foreign men in Sham Shui Po arrested for drug trafficking, police inspected 1.05 million yuan for methamphetamine and ecstasy

At about 1:50 am today (28th), officers from the Special Duty Squad of the Sham Shui Po Police District intercepted two suspicious foreign men on the stairs of a building at 41 Tai Po Road, Sham Shui Po. The police officers later seized about 1.5 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine, about 1,000 suspected ecstasy pills, 4 electronic scales and a batch of suspected drug packaging tools in their unit. Police officers also seized about 71 grams of suspected methamphetamine on one of the men. The total value of drugs seized during the operation was about 1.05 million yuan. Two foreign men aged 38 and 45 were arrested for drug trafficking and are now being detained for investigation. The police reiterated that drug trafficking is a serious crime. According to the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, Chapter 134 of the Laws of Hong Kong, once convicted, the maximum penalty is a fine of HK$5 million and life imprisonment. The public should not try the law on their own.
