Emmanuel Macron's rating is up sharply (+6) over a month and Jean Castex obtains the confidence of a clear majority of French people (56%) a few weeks after his arrival in Matignon, according to a Harris Interactive-Epoka poll released Wednesday. With 50% positive opinions, the Head of State is back to its level of March (51%), at the very start of the Covid-19 crisis in France.

Emmanuel Macron is progressing with all age categories, with the exception of those under 35 (-3), with whom he nevertheless remains in the clear majority (56% of favorable opinions). For his first appearance in this barometer for LCI, Jean Castex climbs five points above his predecessor Edouard Philippe, credited with 51% in June.
The Prime Minister obtains the confidence of a majority of French people questioned in all age groups, from 52% among those under 35 to 63% among those 65 and over. There was also a strong increase (+7) in confidence in members of the government, the day after the reshuffle, with 36% of positive opinions.

Jean-Yves Le Drian (52%, +7) remains the one in whom the French have the most confidence, ahead of the new Minister of Culture Roselyne Bachelot (51%), Olivier Véran (49%, +9) and Bruno Le Maire (49%, +7). Finally, Edouard Philippe (50%, -1) moved to the top of the ranking of other political figures, ahead of Nicolas Hulot, stable at 42%.
Survey conducted online from July 21 to 23 with 960 people aged 18 and over, using the quota method. Margin of error of 1.4 to 3.1 points.
