New crown pneumonia | The fast food market is chaotic Tian Beichen urges Lam Cheng to open government venues for people to eat

Under the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the government has banned dine-in food in restaurants throughout the day starting today (29th). However, because many employees may not have designated indoor working places, a large number of citizens have to go to parks and other outdoor places to eat during lunch time, causing chaos in the market and another health risk. Member of the Legislative Council of the Real Political Roundtable Tian Beichen wrote to Chief Executive Carrie Lam, suggesting that government venues such as gymnasiums and community halls should be opened for citizens to eat and drink on the premise of meeting sanitary standards.

Tian Beichen pointed out that it is really helpless to understand the government's measures to cut off the chain of community transmission. "But from the first day of implementation, it can be seen that the impact on the public is too great. Too many people who do not have a fixed office eat on the street, which is not good for epidemic prevention, public health, and environmental hygiene."

Tian Beichen suggested that the government consider opening up stadiums, community halls and other government venues to provide food for citizens with publicly tested epidemic prevention standards. "All citizens must register when entering and exiting, keep a distance, and the seats are one-way and separated. After each citizen has used it, the staff will immediately disinfect and so on. We hope to provide the citizens with the most basic sanitary eating place under the most stringent epidemic prevention measures."
