In blue and white and in the Likud, everyone remained strong even yesterday in their position regarding the budget issue - and the possibility of elections is approaching. The Likud party demands an annual budget, while the blue and white are interested in a biennial budget.

A source in blue and white clarified in a conversation with "Israel Today" that "we will not be able to agree to a situation in which there will be a budget only for the holidays. The Israeli economy will not be able to recover without economic security for 2021." Blue and white claim that there is no compromise on the issue.

The party also clarifies that the request for a biennial budget came up on behalf of the Likud in the coalition negotiations (before the corona broke out). According to sources involved in the details, Gantz and Finance Minister Israel Katz discussed the budget issue briefly yesterday, but each side remained strong.

It should be noted that although Minister Katz said that he would submit a budget proposal to the government on Sunday for a vote, the issue has not yet been recorded in the cabinet secretariat.

• In the midst of the debate, Netanyahu prefers that Gantz decide for him

"How can you plan?"

On the other hand, the Likud also continues to insist on an annual budget. Minister Amir Ohana addressed the matter in an interview published today in "Shishvat" magazine and said: "How can we go to the polls when we are facing such an epidemic ?! Going to the polls is madness, just madness. On the other hand, agreeing to a biennial budget, as required in blue and white, is "Coronation is also a dynamic thing. We hold nightly meetings because of rising morbidity, change decisions when we see an increase in morbidity, and the public is angry with us and criticizes us unjustifiably. We must be dynamic. This is how the whole world works."

He said, "How can you plan a budget two years ahead when things change at night !? There is no such ability. In blue and white they insist on a biennial budget because of suspicion. They think we will dismantle the government. The prime minister said he is not interested in elections. We have no ability to dispel suspicion. Of blue and white, except to tell them again that we want to abide by the agreement and that they will trust us, because otherwise we will not be able to work together. " Ohana claims that the Likud will not give in to blue and white: "There is no biennial budget, there will not be, it can not happen, there is no such scenario."

The ultra-Orthodox side continues to press the parties to reach a compromise. The ultra-Orthodox demand a budget, one-year or two-year. Deri met with blue-and-white people in the Knesset on Wednesday and spoke with Likud members in an attempt to find a compromise, but so far without success.
