The Chairman of the Civic Party, Leung Jiajie, stated that six members of the party submitted nomination forms in the Legislative Council election. Four of them have been DQ. He believes that the fate of the other two will be the same.
Liang Jiajie said that the DQ this time is "to add to the crime, why nothing is wrong", and it is also an insult, destruction and deprivation of Hong Kong people's right to vote and to be elected. He believes that "one country, two systems" will no longer exist, and the Civic Party will not only exist in the future Within the Legislative Council, we will continue to defend human rights, freedom and the rule of law by walking with Hong Kong people in civil society.
The leader of the Civic Party, Yang Yueqiao, said that he believed that the other two members of the party would be DQ in a short time. He believes that if the Civic Party was DQ for its work in defending human rights, democracy and freedom in the past, it would be honored. He especially thanked the citizens who supported it in the past, but regretted that the party could not continue to serve the citizens in Parliament in the future.
Yang Yueqiao believes that the five-page reply from the Returning Officer cannot deny their past efforts, but keeps the "biggest joke" low. The Citizen Party promised to Hong Kong people that it will not give up on this, and emphasized that even if the political winter has come, it must be calm. Faced with, the party will not give up.

Kwok Ka-ki said that a total of 12 pro-democracy candidates were selected by the DQ today, which just proves that under the new regime, Hong Kong people no longer have the right to participate in elections under the Basic Law. He believes that in the future there will be no fairness, justice and ability. An election that represents the aspirations of the people of Hong Kong, but I believe that the government DQ will only make Hong Kong people more united and cherish the preciousness of freedom and democracy. I hope Hong Kong people will not give up.
Zheng Dahong said that he is the only new member of the party to participate in direct elections. "If you don’t do it, you will be a DQ." He thanked 610,000 voters for voting in the primary election and emphasized that walking with Hong Kong people is his greatest ideal. Yang Yueqiao: No candidates for Plan B will be announced
When asked whether the Civic Party would prepare Plan B to replace the four people who were DQ, Liang Jiajie frankly said that if Plan B were all members of the party, I believe they would be "frozen." Yang Yueqiao said that he will not announce the candidates for Plan B for the time being, and "must be more careful."
Regarding the government’s announcement of the postponement of elections in the next few days, Chen Shuzhuang, the convener of the democratic party’s meeting, said that many countries have held elections as scheduled under the epidemic. There is no reason for the Hong Kong government to postpone the election. Make every effort to hold elections on time.
Yang Yueqiao said that the party's future plans need to be considered in the long term, emphasizing that this DQ measure is to deprive Hong Kong people of their voting rights, and frankly confessing that if voters do not vote for the Civic Party in the election, they will truly destroy the party. Liang Jiajie described that the distance from the extinct party was "more than one hundred and eight thousand miles," and I believe that members of the party will not lose support.
