A minor was arrested and taken into police custody Thursday, July 30 for having hit a bus driver in Orléans on Tuesday who had asked him shortly before to wear a mask in the vehicle, the Orléans prosecutor's office said. The alleged aggressor, without a criminal record but known to the courts, was placed in police custody " for violence against a person entrusted with a public service mission ".

The driver of Tao (public transport network of the Métropole d'Orléans, Keolis group) was prescribed four days of ITT (total incapacity for work) due, in particular, to an eye injury. “ He (the alleged aggressor, Editor's note) gets on the bus at the bus station. The driver points out to him that wearing a mask is compulsory. He then pulls his T-shirt up to his face and walks to the back of the bus. He returned a few moments later, this time with a mask and struck the driver several series of blows, ”revealed the prosecution.

On July 10 in Bayonne, a bus driver, Philippe Monguillot, died after being violently assaulted by two men while he wanted to check a passenger's ticket and demanded that three others wear masks.
