At about 2 am on Saturday (August 1), a man named Chen (23 years old) reported that he was attacked by four men with knives and sticks in a parking lot at No. 100 Fengjiangcun Road. The victim was outnumbered, and a Richard Mille watch worth about 1.6 million yuan was snatched away. The culprit fled away after he succeeded.
The head, hands, feet and back were bloody with a knife. He was injured and drove a private car on his own. He went to Tin Shui Wai Hospital for medical treatment and was later transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment. After investigation by the police, the case was temporarily classified as a "robbery". The Criminal Investigation Team of the Yuen Long Police District has taken over and followed up. No one has been arrested for the time being.
And on July 23, the male proprietor of a watch shop at 47 Granville Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, was also robbed by two South Asian Han, who snatched his Richard Mille watch worth about 1.4 million yuan. Two or three days later, the police arrested two Pakistani and two Filipino men (18-22 years old). The suspects are not ruled out. The watch in the case has not been recovered.
The famous watch involved in the case was a limited edition of RM61 black and white runway released by Richard Mille in 2016. It is limited to 50 pieces worldwide, worth about HK$1.4 million. The watch was discontinued in 2016.
